Late Bloomers is a groundbreaking exploration of how finding one's way later in life can be an advantage to long-term achievement and happiness.
What I particularly like about this book is its kind advice. Every one of us is good at what we do in our own way and at our own pace. We all should give ourselves some time to understand our passions and strengths. Take these three famous people for example. After years of toiling in community theater and small stage productions, Morgan Freeman made his big break into Hollywood at the age of 52. Steve Jobs launched the iPad, iPod, iTunes, and iPhone after he turned 45. And JK Rowling, after suffering from depression and living on welfare money, published the Harry Potter series at the age of 32.
The rush to succeed at a very young age and the society’s pressure to excel has done more harms than good. This book is an antidote to this intense pressure.
